Our Story
The journey of this unique space began with a bold vision: to open the very first cat cafe in the heart of Uganda. Born from a passion for exceptional coffee and a deep love for animals, the original founders embraced a unique challenge from Appetite Pet Shop. They were offered this beautiful space on one condition—it had to be a sanctuary for cats. In just one month, with a dedicated team and a shared mission, the cafe opened its doors at One Bukoto Street, creating a landmark for community and compassion in Kampala.
As the new owners, we are absolutely thrilled to carry this torch forward. We are honored to continue the incredible spirit of the cafe, maintaining the warm, joyful atmosphere that has made it a second home for so many. To mark this new chapter in our journey, we are excited to announce our new name: Tribal Blend Cat Cafe. While our name has evolved, our heart remains the same—a perfect blend of premium coffee culture and dedicated animal welfare.
Our vital partnership with Cat Cradle Rescue Uganda, led by the inspiring Ella, remains the cornerstone of everything we do. Ella’s incredible dedication—having rescued over 200 cats—continues to provide a safe haven for abandoned and wounded felines within our walls. We are proud to serve as a bridge between these wonderful cats and their forever families. At Tribal Blend Cat Cafe, we invite you to join us in celebrating this legacy of community and compassion.
